SRINAGAR, Apr 10: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported record 1,005 fresh cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 37,475. With six fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 2,029.
Srinagar district reported 492 new cases including 62 travelers followed by Jammu district 183 cases, Baramulla district 93 cases, Reasi district 58 cases including 39 travelers, Anantnag district 32 cases, Pulwama district 31 cases, Budgam district 25 cases, Kathua district 20 cases, Udhampur district 17 cases including 11 travelers, Kupwara district 14 cases, Samba district 11 cases, Kulgam district eight cases, Bandipora district five cases, Ramban district four cases, Ganderbal and Shopian districts three cases each and Rajouri, Poonch & Doda districts two cases each. Jammu district reported three deaths, Samba district two deaths and Kupwara district one death.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,005 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 299 from Jammu division and 706 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 37,475. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported, five from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 359 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 102 from Jammu division and 257 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 37,475 positive cases, 6,755 are active positive, 1, 28,691 have recovered and 2,029 have died; 752 in Jammu division and 1,277 in Kashmir division.
Out of 64, 59,007 test results available, 63, 21,532 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 15, 92,728 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 54,447 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6,755 in isolation and 1, 30,898 in home surveillance. Besides, 13, 98,599 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 31,549 positive cases, 2,508 active positive, 28,564 recovered, 477 deaths; Baramulla has 9,633 positive cases, 799 active positive, 8,651recovered, 183 deaths; Budgam has 8,578 positive cases, 375 active positive, 8,081 recovered, 122 deaths; Pulwama has 6,094 positive cases, 160 active positive, 5,842 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,973 positive cases, 167 active positive, 5,708 recovered, 98 deaths. “Anantnag has 5,360 positive cases, 181 active positive, 5,082 recovered, 97 deaths; Bandipora has 4,875 positive cases, 115 active positive, 4,697 recovered, 63 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,790 positive cases, 72 active positive, 4,669 recovered, 49 deaths; Kulgam has 3,006 positive cases, 220 active positive, 2,730 recovered, 56 deaths and Shopian has 2,702 positive cases, 57 active positive, 2,605 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 27,025 positive cases, 1,268 active positive, 25,366 recovered, 391 deaths; Udhampur has 4,588 positive cases, 227 active positive, 4,303 recovered, 58 deaths; Rajouri has 3,948 positive cases, 59 active positive, 3,833 recovered, 56 deaths; Kathua has 3,495 positive cases, 113 active positive, 3,329 recovered, 53 deaths; Doda has 3,493 positive cases, 37 active positive, 3,392 recovered, 64 deaths.
“Samba has 2,928 positive cases, 77 active positive, 2,808 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,787 positive cases, 31 active positive, 2,734 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,575 positive cases, 35 active positive, 2,514 recovered, 26 deaths; Ramban has 2,175 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,139 recovered, 23 deaths and Reasi has 1,901 positive cases, 241 active positive, 1,644 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 37,475 positive cases, 14,661 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
