Babus hijacking our powers of decision making: Juhi
4/17/2021 11:18:49 PM
Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 17: Vice Chairperson of District Development Council (DDC) Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania wife of former BJP MLA Ramnagar Ranbir Singh Pathania, claimed that the administration is not involving the DDC members in important decision making processes.
Juhi Manhas said that decisions like action plan, approving work plan, matter of first installment of District Plan (Capex Budget) funds and other decisions, means she directly targeted Udhampur District Development Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib finalizing of certain works and plans on her own without any involvement of the DDCs.
"We are not involved in decision making and are only called in meetings as members after the decisions are made," she informed this reporter, adding that employees from the DC office below Tehsildar rank alled by names to DDC members and inform them regarding such meetings and their time and venues, we feel displeased.
"If they don't feel any need to involve the elected DDC members in decision making then what was the fun in conducting the DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in history," Manhas maintained.
She claimed that their position has been relegated by the Babus to a mere meeting member.
The DDC Vice Chairperson also claimed that as far as their office are concerned a hall, a room only with a common washroom has been given to them.
"A room was given to DDC member Ramnagar-1 as an office which was not in good condition but the keys of that too were taken back after some days," she claimed.
She further asserted that the officers are hijacking their powers of decision making even though they know nothing about the areas for which the elected DDC members are well versed.
Manhas quoted an occasion wherein a few days back in an order Ramnagar-1 DDC member Mool Raj was requested by BDO Parli Dhar to accompany the SDM during a tour of the area.
Juhi Manhas further said that they have also written to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in this regard seeking his intervention into all such affairs.
