Forest Dept launches mega plantation drive in Marwah | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Apr 17: As a part of green initiative and to promote plantation, Division Forest Office Kishtwar under the supervision of DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar done plantation under campa/ CA/ and planted 3.74 lakhs plants under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Green Drive (JK Green Drive) and 90% plant production and 10% BL to Install the feeder. During the tree planting campaign, Indian Army viz 17 Rashtriya Rifles and 11 Rashtriya Rifles jointly planted lakhs of saplings along with the Forest Department with active participation of Sarpanchs, Panchs, Block Development Chairpersons falling under jurisdiction of Marwah Forest Division Speaking to Early Times, DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar said that Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma gave his full support to the tree plantation programme many times and also took part in these tree plantation drive. Vijay Kumar further informed that Principal Chief Conservator Forest (PCCF) Jammu and Kashmir to Chief Conservator Ramesh Kumar (IFS), Conservator Chenab Circle Satpaul Pakhroo (IFS) played important role in this drive and also visited personally added that Kishtwar police and district administration also cooperated. DFO Marwah said that they tried their best to eradicate the forest smuggling by taking strict action against the smugglers. He has appealed to the people of Marwah Division to support the Forest Department in eradicating smuggling and to cooperate with the department in promoting forests. |
