Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 17: A two-day Seminar on "Community Policing" was conducted in the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur on April 16-17, 2021. Nineteen (19) officers of the rank of SI to SSP attended the seminar. Objectives of the Seminar were to examine the elements of community policing - its importance, concept and implementation, to discuss case studies pertaining to community policing, to analyze best practices in community policing, sharing personal experience with reference to community Policing and to identify steps to be taken for improving community policing. To achieve the objectives of the training programme, experienced and qualified guest faculty including Dr. Rashi Taggar, Asstt. Professor SMVDU, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Secretary General, press club of Jammu & Mahesh Kaul, post doctoral fellow Indian council of philosophical research, New Delhi were called to share their experience on different topics related to community policing. In the valediction address Suraj Singh, Dy.SP (R&D)/(Administrative officer) SKPA Udhampur laid stress to build the trust between police and public. When the public trust and respect police they are more likely to call on them for help, to cooperate with them in critical situations and work together to solve community problems. Suraj Singh also congratulated concerned officers of the Academy for making adequate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the course. |
