‘Bowli Warriors’ meet DDC Udhampur
4/19/2021 11:30:05 PM

Early Times Report

Udhampur, Apr 19: The group of 5-6 men, who have been volunteering the cause of cleaning Bowlis or the natural springs in Udhampur town, today called on District Development Commissioner (DDC) Indu Kanwal Chib, seeking the latter's cooperation in accomplishing the task.
Tagged as “Bowli Warriors” by the local administrator, Indu Kanwal Chib, the young activists—Naresh Kumar, Vijay Atri, Abhishek Sharma and Mohan Lal—said that they apprised the DC Udhampur regarding their weekly activities and the progress achieved so far, in their meeting.
“We sought cooperation of the Deputy Commissioner in storing the water of the natural springs that we’ve cleaned so far, in some reservoirs, so that it can be put to use,” Naresh Kumar, one of the activists said.
Mohan Lal and Vijay Atri said that DC appreciated their initiative and promised them that the district administration will provide them all the possible help in achieving their mission.
“The DC Udhampur has already contributed to our cause by retweeting our videos wherein we’re seen cleaning the bowlis. Only after her retweets, our activity got noticed and people across the district took up the task of cleaning other ground water springs. Today, our small activity has become a big movement. It’s a moment of rejoice,” they said, adding, “DC Udhampur is a visionary bureaucrat. We’re hopeful that she’ll take up our mission to new heights.”
