Jammu, Apr 19: Five ward members of Panchayat Chanjer in remote Marwah Block of Kishtwar District have moved a no confidence motion against the BJP female Sarpanch for allegedly misusing her authority and indulging in corruption by withdrawing lakhs on the name of her husband and sons in her Panchayat.
As per the details available with Early Times, Five ward members of Panchayat Chanjer viz Bashir Ahmed, Mansoor Ahmed Wagay, Ranjeet Kumar Koul, Manzoor Ahmed & Ghulam Nabi Sheikh along with Naib Sarpanch Ragna Devi duly signed the no confidence motion addressed to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar with copy of the same address to Panchayat Secretary with the request to initiate the process for removal of the Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Chenjer.
In its no confidence motion, the members have alleged that Mohammad Iqbal, husband of the Sarpanch Naseema Begum is calling the shots in place of his wife. Iqbal, the members said, has wholly and solely taken the functioning of the Panchayat work while his wife who is the Sarpanch is rarely seen.
The ward members alleged that the Sarpanch and her husband are busy in looting the public exchequer and have managed to withdraw the payments to the tune of Rs. 9 lakhs under 14th FC in respect of Ward No. 3 and other wards of the Panchayat on the name of her son Khalid Iqbal and her husband Mohammad Iqbal and close relative Mansoor Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz Malik and Nisar Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh without execution of any work on ground.
Similarly an amount of Rs. 10-12 lakhs has been withdrawn on the name of Mohammad Rafi son of Bhadur Sheikh by showing him as a vendor.
The members also alleged that the Sarpanch and her husband had prepared fake stamps on some of their names and forged their signatures.
They alleged that the Sarpanch had made her young childrens as job card holders and termed the action of Sarpanch and her husband as completely unlawful.
They ward members also raised various serious allegations against the women Sarpanch added that the Sarpanch never bothered to take the advice of ward members in key issues pertaining to the Panchayat.
The angry ward members also demanded an inquiry into the alleged embezzlements done by the Sarpanch, her husband and by her children and called upon the LG and Principal Secretary Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj beside also called for initiating the procedure for removal of Sarpanch Under Panchayat Raj Act 1989.
