Sunita Kumari, Vikram Singh elected president, vice president of MC Ramban | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Apr 19: Bhartiya Janta Party’s Sunita Kumari and Vikram Singh were elected as President and Vice President, of the Municipal Council, Ramban respectively. In a fresh election held today they were elected as President and Vice President for the rest of the tenure as the former President,Amit Bharti and Vice President,Khalid Wani were removed from their posts in a No Confidence Motion moved by the four Councilors on March 20. Sunita was elected unopposed following the withdrawal of nomination by her rival independent candidate,Rajkumar. While as for her deputy’s post the ballot box polling was held wherein Vikram Singh polled 5 votes out of 7 and his rival Gopal Krishen Raina of INC polled only 2 votes. Amit and Wani had contested the Municipal Council election as independent and INC candidates respectively in September 2019. |
