Four including a woman held for murder over land dispute in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, May 15: In a tragic incident in remote Ekhalla area of this district one person died after he was allegedly attacked by the accused over a land dispute involving a path.
As per the details available with Early Times one Baboo Ram S/O Seva Ram R/O Ekhalla Tehsil Dachhan lodged a written complaint at police post Patimhal, Palmar stating therein that his father namely Sewa Ram was beaten mercilessly by Lal chand S/O Devi Das, Tara Devi W/O Lal Chand, Sandeep Kumar S/O Lal Chand and Suraj Kumar S/O Lal Chand all residents of village Ekhalla, Dachaan resulting causing serious injuries to Sewa Ram.
On this complaint FIR No 89/2021 U/S 307/34 IPC stand registered and investigation was taken up. Later on the deceased succumbed to his injuries at district hospital Kishtwar. Accordingly section 302/IPC was added in the instant case.
Sources told Early Times a scuffle took place over some land dispute between both the parties at village Ekhalla. During the course of investigation Inspector Jatinder Rakwal in-charge police post Patimhal took all the four accused persons into custody and put them to questioning. Police said that the dead body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs after autopsy was conducted.
Police also rebuffed the reports of pressing lesser charges against the accused persons adding that at the first instance the FIR was registered U/S 307 IPC since the victim was alive at the time of the registration of the FIR which was later augmented with section 302 RPC as per the set procedure. Police assured that strict possible action against the accused involved in heinous crime that claim the life of innocent person.
