Early Times Report

Jammu, May 20: In these difficult times, when the whole of Jammu is locked up inside the homes and life has come to a still there are few, who on the call of their duty and sense of responsibility, are sleeves up for this war against an unseen enemy, called as Corona Warriors.
In these trying times, Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market(Regd.) has once again come forward to help the needy people of Jammu. The Federation has established “Oxygen War Room”, “Ration War Room” and “Medicine War Room” in the federation office and anyone in need can contact the federation for which several helpline numbers have been released.
This was informed by Deepak Gupta, President Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market(Regd.) during a press conference held at federation office on Thursday.
During the press conference, Deepak Gupta regretted that Jammu region continued to be looked upon with a jaundiced eye even in such crucial times and despite suffering from a higher mortality rate. He said that our hospitals are out of beds, patients not getting oxygen beds and ventilators. Gupta claimed highly biased and prejudicial treatment to Jammu region was evident from the number of Oxygen Generation Plants(OGPs). As per the official fact sheet, out of 46 OGPs in J&K in the government sector, 34 were in Kashmir and merely 12 in Jammu.
Firing some serious questions, Gupta said that there are no hospital beds available, medicines are running short, crematoriums are full, front line workers are exhausted, where is the planning? Why are we short of facilities?
Taking serious note of these problems and to help the people, the federation has decided to establish an Oxygen War Room for the people of Jammu, he said.
Gupta said that the federation has more than 100 Oxygen cylinders, 5 Bipap Machines, 5 Oxygen concentrators and sufficient number of Oxygen Flow meters and anyone in need can contact us on our helpline numbers.
Similarly, the federation has established Ration War Room and Medicine War Room for the needy people. Gupta said that the lockdown has already disproportionately hurt marginalized communities due to loss of livelihood and lack of food and other basic needs.
We took the responsibility to protect the health and well-being of the population in this hour of crisis. Our people are facing an extraordinary challenge and the federation has decided to provide free ration and medicines to the poor and vulnerable populations among other things. Gupta said that the federation will try to ensure that everyone has access to food and medical care.
On this occasion Munish Mahajan, Sr. Vc. President, Abhimanyu Gupta, Vc. President, Sham lal Langer, General Secretary, Vishal Gupta, Secretary and Amit Gupta, Cashier of the Federation were also present.
