Jammu, May 20: Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K in coordination with Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organized a webinar today on “Preparedness of Jammu District in Handling Second Wave of Covid19’ by involving Jammu administration and some prominent doctors of Jammu district.
The webinar completely focused on the preparedness of Jammu district to tackle the second wave & the importance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour among the masses so that there would be decrease in the number of Covid19 cases and deaths in coming days.
In his welcome address, Shahid Mohamad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, said that the biggest aim of conducting these webinars is to send positive vibes among masses using the officials from District Administration & Health and Medical Education so that the people don’t panic & strict themselves to the Covid19 appropriate behaviour. He further said that when the whole country is reeling under Covid19 second wave, the Government along with the frontline warriors is doing its best to stop it’s spread by creating an awareness using social media and other platforms & by vaccinating people across the country.
In his address, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Satish Sharma gave an overview of the preparedness of Jammu district to tackle the second wave of Covid19 and said that the necessary facilities have been ramped up, be that the COVID-19 beds, oxygen availablity at GMC Jammu and it’s associated hospitals. He further said that the Jammu administration along with the health department is on toes, working days and nights, has geared up to equip all the hospitals with the necessary Covid19 facilities. The COVID-19 helpline has been started in Jammu district for all the assistance during this pandemic and there is no compromise whatsoever in handling these crisis.
Sonjogita Soodan, Health Officer, Municipal Corporation, Jammu said that JMC is neck to neck with the district administration and health department to tackle this second wave of Covid19 and the need of the hour is an integrative approach to curb this pandemic.
Besides officers of the district and students, Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag, Shahid Mohammad Lone, Media and Communications Officer, PIB Jammu, Shiekh Mudasir Amin, In charge Field Outreach Bureau, Rajouri, Gurnaam Singh & other officers of Ministry of I&B across the country were also present. The Webinar was moderated by Vijay Matoo, in charge Field Outreach Bureau, Kathua.
