District administration to establish isolation facility at each panchayat: DC Kishtwar

Kishtwar, May 20: On the direction of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today held an intensive day long interactive meeting with the PRI members and the concerned officers here at the block headquarter Paddar of District Kishtwar and discussed the modalities to establish 5-bedded isolation facility at the designated places of each panchayat.
BDC chairman Arpan Singh Rana, DDC member Hari Krishan, ACD Kishtwar Kishore Singh Katoch, SDM paddar Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Paddar Major Singh,BDO Paddar G N Affaqi,BMO Paddar Dr Raj Kumar besides various PRI members of the block attended the meeting.
At the outset DC Kishtwar apprised the house that the district administration Kishtwar on the direction of LG UT J&K is going to gear up for the establishment of 5-bedded COVID isolation facility at each panchayat to strengthen health infrastructure in Rural Areas at the grass root level for the effective tackling of the COVID 19 pandemic.
He further informed that 5-bedded isolation facility at each panchayat will have One Oxygen-Supported Bed for immediate patient care.
He asked all the PRI members and the concerned officers to work in coordination and ensure the identification of the buildings with adequate accommodation facilities for the establishment of the well equiped COVID isolation facility .
Panchayat ghars, community halls, or Schools could be utilized for creation of facilities in consultation with nearest Health Centre and Panchayat representatives, he further said.
He further informed that these facilities will be equipped with necessary medical kit and linked to nearest health centres & Tele-medicine facilities and The Panchayats shall use upto Rs One Lakh available with them for creation of isolation facilities including beds, purchase of oxygen concentrator, and creation of toilet & other basic facilities.
The meeting was further informed that this basic minimum infrastructure shall be provided to these isolation facilities at Panchayat level as many households may not have option for isolation of Covid positive patients in their own residence.
He directed BMO Paddar to provide logistics and training to ASHA and Aanganwadi workers. Besides ASHA, Anganwadi Workers, Sarpanches & Panches shall act as a village health committee which shall ensure healthcare facilities including regular visit of doctors . volunteers shall also be roped in for testing and upkeep of such facilities.
Meanwhile DC Kishtwar also inspected the various developmental works and directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work to complete the work in stipulated time period without compromising the quality of work.
BDO Paddar was asked to take up the work for the upgradation of the Bus stand Gulabgarh on immediate basis.
