UDHAMPUR, May 20: In-charge Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Udhampur, Dr. Balvinder Singh today said that hospital administration is working with three-level system to implement covid treatment and Management protocol.
Speaking at media conference, Dr Singh said that three different teams of medical staff has been deployed to execute the protocol
“The first category includes Medical Officers assisted by four nurses are round the clock available in the covid ward to provide every possible service to critical patients. Similarly a team of physicians (M.D Medicine) are made available to attend new patients, while Nodal Officers, who are consultant Specialists are managing the things at at the entry level.
Dr. Singh said that the prevailing crisis have posed a great challenge for medical warriors, but they are committed and are giving the best possible services to the patients.
He said paramedics, Nurses and safai karmacharies are working round the clock and fighting with this dreaded virus effectively. Many of them have made supreme sacrifice in this war like valiant soldiers, he aded.
He further said that this war can be won collectively and sought the cooperation of public in following covid appropriate behavior to break the chain of transmission. “Only doctors and paramedics cannot win this war alone, the civil society should also accept their responsibility. They have to behave in COVID appropriate manner, follow all guidelines and instructions of the govt” he added
About vaccination, Dr Singh said that the vaccine is the ultimate tool to fight this dreaded enemy. “We can win only if every individual comes forward to take vaccination. It is safe and will protect us from the infection” he appealed.
The Medical Superintendent further advised the people to right away go for testing if anyone develop symptoms like sore throat, fever, cough, cold as treatment at the early stage guarantees early recovery. He said that most of the people including youngsters come to the hospital after 8 to 10 days of symptoms, when the situation has worsened which also minimize the survival rate.
