Two OGWs arrested with six grenades in north Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, May 20: Jammu and Kashmir police achieved a major success when they arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of a militant outfit and recovered six live grenades in the frontier district of Kupwara, a police spokesman said on Thursday. He said on the basis of a specific information about the movement of Anti National Element (ANEs), Kupwara police established a special naka at main town. However, during the naka two persons were seen on a specious condition who tried to escape near the naka checking, he said adding later they were overpowered after a chase by the police party. The arrested OGWs were identified as Jahangir Ahmad Hajam and his brother Abdul Hameed Hajan, sons of Mangta Hajam, resident of Khawarpara Tangdhar. He said six live grenades were recovered from their possession which they were to hand over to militants. In this context Case FIR number 160/2021 Under Section 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered in Police Station Kupwara, he said adding further investigation into the matter is under process. |
