District admin well equipped to provide medicare to covid patients: DC Rajouri

RAJOURI, May 20: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today said that district administration is well prepared to provide effective Medicare services to covid patients.
Addressing a pres s conference here, the Deputy Commissioner said that there was no dearth of medical oxygen supply as a sufficient number of concentrators and oxygen cylinders are available with the health institutions.
An Oxygen concentrator plant of 1000 LPM capacity is functional in GM&AH, while the work on another 2250 LPM capacity plant is in progress, he said and added the DPRs for the installation of two more oxygen concentrator plants also stand prepared.
“ As per the government decision, one each COVID Care Centre of five beds will be set up in each Panchayat for keeping the Covid patients in isolation in their respective panchayats and all logistics arrangements would be made available in these centres “, the Deputy Commissioner informed.
Giving details about the covid cases, the Deputy Commissioner said that 3200 persons were tested today out of which 158 tested positive. The positivity rate is 5.29 per cent as of today.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that as many as 148 deaths have been reported in the district including 57 deaths during the first wave and the remaining in the second wave.
“The voluntary organisations, NGOs and youth have played a significant role in providing relief to the needy people role amid Coronavirus “, the Deputy Commissioner said.
The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the efforts of the Police Administration for the successful implementation of the Corona Curfew and Covid related guidelines in the district.
A fine of more than seven lacs has also been realised and FIRs have been lodged against the persons found involved in the corona guidelines violation.
Giving further details, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the Covid kits were distributed to all the COVID patients for their convenience.
“The main reason for the increase in the number of deaths of Covid patients is the late arrival. To stop this, the Government is taking concrete measures like a door to door screening of the patients, making Covid care facilities available at their doorsteps to ensure that the positive patients are detected at the earliest and necessary treatment is provided to them in time.” the Deputy Commissioner informed.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the general public for their cooperation in the successful implementation of the corona curfew and COVID related protocols in the district and urged them to keep supporting the District Administration in its fight against the pandemic.
