Jammu, June 1: All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha observed the 51th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath who sacrificed his life for the cause of down trodden people of the state. Keeping in view the guidelines issued by the JK-UT from time to time regarding Covid 19, the main function was organized at Sadguru Kabir Bhawan at Bishnah where some prominent personalities of the Dalit Samaj participated and paid tributes to the great revolutionary leader. F.C Bhagat president of the Kabir Sabha while speaking on the occasion said that Shaheed Amarnath devoted himself for social cause, justice and implementation of constitutional rights for the benefit of the Dalit Samaj of J&K state. He was very much committed and determined to sacrifice his life for the victimized, discriminated, deprived, socially exploited and neglected downtrodden masses. Bhagat said history reveals that during 1970 there was great resentment among the Dalit Samaj against the deliberate denial of reservations rights by the state government despite such reservations rights implemented throughout the country. Ultimately Shaheed Amarnath sat on hunger strike and even sacrificed his life for the cause of Dalit Samaj adding that due to his efforts the reservations rights were implemented in our state.
On the occasion other prominent personalities who through light on the contribution of shaheed Bhagat Amarnath were G R Bhagat sr Vice President, Yash Pal Bhagat Vice- President, Buti Ram Bhagat ex Distt President, Tersem Lal, Ashwani Kumar Block President, Sat Pal Bhagat Block General secretary and Chaman Lal Chaman ex general secretary.
