Jammu, June 1: A National Webinar on “Strategy for Managing Personal Finance including Mutual Funds” organised by Government Degree College Billawar in collaboration with Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) in commemoration to “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Pinkey, HOD Commerce was the organizing secretary of this webinar. Around 1000 registration across all over India have received, out of which more than 300 participants have attended this programme online.
Surya Kant Sharma, Senior Consultant AMFI, was the keynote speaker in this national webinar. He cautioned participants that most of the investments except in governmental shares have risk but risk can be managed by simple formula - think, understand and invest.
He shared basic information on various investment avenues available in the market. He emphatically cautioned participants not to invest their hard-earned money on the advice of others including agents and never in unregulated fund mobilisation schemes which give assurance for higher and quick return at the beginning but ultimately vanish with the hard-earned money of investors.
After this, there was a session on National Pension Scheme (NPS) where features of NPS was shared by Amit Mishra, a Manager in NSDL, e-governance Infra Ltd. Nitin Joshi, Vice President, NSDL was the invited speaker for this session.
After these sessions, a question answer session was made open for the participants and participants asked lot of questions on personal finance which were satisfactorily answered by the experts. At the end of the program Lekh Raj, HOD Zoology gave formal votes of thanks.
