‘Moral duty of government to ensure no injustice, inequality, caste discrimination’ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 1: General Category Peoples’ Front – Jammu Kashmir held its meeting under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, the Chairman of the Front in which the issues of people were discussed. Addressing the meeting, Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front said that in order to shape bias and prejudice opinion against General category people, obnoxious propaganda campaigns had been launched by political parties and some social groups for their vested political interests. He said that it was a moral duty of the government to ensure no injustice, inequality and caste discrimination with anyone in the society. He demanded legal provision of equal rights and equal laws for all citizens. He once again reiterated his call to all unreserved communities and senior intellectual members of the society to rise above politics and combat unitedly against discrimination being done in the name of social justice. V.K. Sharma, Vice President lashed out at political outfits as they have been building and spreading false, partial and prejudicial narratives over the issue of reservation and its continuation without any review. He demanded de-freezing of D.A. installments of 4th class employees and pensioners as their families are facing numerous financial hardships on the account of inflation and unprecedented price-rise which has badly affected the house hold budget of a middle class family. He demanded 50 percent cut in electricity and water bills beside Rs. 10,000/- per month as stipend to educated unemployed youth. He demanded that all pensioners being senior citizens be exempted from income Tax as their pension is an allowance and not a salary. Bansi Lal, Jagdish Dogra, Deepak Khajuria, Bhushan Pargal Gopal Dass Verma also expressed similar views in the meeting. |
