One day faculty development programme on “360 acadamician- scope and challenges” organized

Jammu, Jun 26: Dogra Educational Complex, Bari Brahmana, Samba organized a Faculty Knowledge Sharing Programme (FKSP) for the staff members of Dogra group of colleges on collaboration with IBS Business School Gurgoan. Prof. Shalini Khandelwal, Dean Academics and Faculty member in the area of HR and OB at ICFAI Business School Gurgoan was the resource person for the day and she deliberated on the topic “360 Acadamician- Scope and Challenges”. The objective of the programme was to enlighten the audience to work effectively in an increasingly technological world. She in her address highlighted the changing scenario seen in the millennial learner of today which is typical and engaging them in routine class work is a tough job. Dr. Khandelwal in the elaborative session discussed the scope and challanges faced by the educator during this pandemic and further deliberated upon the ways and strategies educators should practice to achieve success in the virtual learning environment. Important topics like Importance of Research, Economic Growth, Instruments for Social Mobility, Centers for Intellectual Growth, Service to Community, Knowledge Acquisition and Knowledge Dissemination were touch upon. She urged the faculty to make teaching effective by seeking new and better online technologies procedures and methods that would delight their learners and keep them engaged.
Later speaking on the occasion WPrincipal Dogra Degree College appreciated the guest speaker for throwing light on a very relevant topic and facilitating the faculty by enriching them on their role.
Prominent among those who attended the webinar were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Ms. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, Dr. Vikesh Kumar, Principal Dogra College of Education, Dr. Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator DCE, Dr. Komila Agarwal, Principal Incharge Dogra Law College. The vote of thanks was move by Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, Lecturer Dogra Degree College. About 30 faculty members participated in the webinar. Overall it was a fruitful knowledge sharing experience wherein the faculty of all the three Colleges benefitted from the first hand experiences shared by the resource person of the day.
