Traffic Police adopts double standard in making challans of vehicles in Rajouri, Poonch | | | Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report
Poonch, June 26: Traffic Police has allegedly adopted double standards in making challan to the vehicles. It has been observed that some vehicles including ECO, Tractors are spared while other local vehicles are challaned in Rajouri and Poonch districts. Sources alleged that ECO vehicles, Tractors are not challaned by traffic police of Rajouri and Poonch due to collusion between them while focus is put on other vehicles. Besides private Sumo vehicles, which are mostly registered from other states, are used for commercial purposes but traffic police have never held a crackdown against them. Not only this, even there is no proper regulation of traffic cops in these districts. A SO in Traffic Police Rajouri was transferred but not relieved yet. Similarly it has been observed that PSO spent a few months in far off areas and then again returned to his old place and continues to do their old practices. Traffic police has created a mess in these districts and vehicles, which are not allowed to ply on road for commercial purposes, have been openly violating traffic rules. When Early Times contacted a senior traffic police official, he said that appropriate action will be taken against traffic cops, who were find involved in such illegal practices. |
