Justice Tashi Rabastan inaugurates Vidhik Seva Kendra at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, June 26: Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge High Court of J&K and Chairman High Court Legal Services Committee, today inaugurated Vidhik Seva Kendra/Legal Service Center, here at District Court Complex.
On this occasion, Y.P Bourney, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, Amit Kumar Gupta, Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee, Rajni Sharma, Secretary DLSA, besides the Judicial officers of the Udhampur were also present.
Justice Tashi Rabastan declared the service open for litigant public/ Advocates and other stakeholders to ensure the filing of the cases in the High Court of J&K and other District and Subordinate Courts by use of this service.
Justice Tashi Rabastan said that the VIDHIK SEVA KENDRA will enable a litigant to file a lawsuit in any court of J&K through virtual mode and obtain the status of litigation and cases with one click. The service will also enable online purchase of stamp papers, apply and obtain Adhaar-based digital signature, booking of Mulakat appointments etc. “By availing such modern digital services the litigants and advocates will be able to file their cases with much ease as compared to manual filing which is time consuming and expensive.” he added.
Justice Tashi Rabastan also monitored the demonstration of the system and expressed satisfaction that the application of a litigant reached the High Court within few minutes and within ten minutes the litigant would get its acknowledgement.
Justice, Tashi Rabastan while appreciating the initiative of the J&K Legal Services Authorities and District legal services Authority observed that the services introduced will give timely relief to the litigant public/lawyers and other people for filing of their cases by e-mode from their respective places without approaching in the courts physically. He also described the services as an additional and effective benefit made available to the public in the Udhampur district for strengthening the objective of access to justice and timely dispensation of justice.
Meanwhile, The visiting Justice interacted with Bar members and listened to their problems . Bar President J.D Slathia presented a memorandum of demands to Justice, who assured early redress of genuine issues .
The event was also attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; ADC Mohammad Sayeed Khan; Additional SP Mohammed Anwar Ul Haq , DYSP, Rural Sahid Nayeem ,Judicial officers and members of Bar Association Udhampur.
