JAMMU, June 26: Traffic Police City Jammu since June 21 has launched a ten-day long traffic safety awareness campaign to make the roads safer for drivers, riders and commuters in the Jammu city. Besides, directing the officers/officials to sensitize people about the traffic rules and regulations to save precious human lives from accidents, Dr Koshal Kumar Sharma, SSP Traffic Jammu, urged the people to take special care and precautions to ensure safety of the most vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, children, elderly and the differently able persons while driving or riding Motor Vehicle. SSP said, "Instead of enforcing the Traffic law strictly, people should voluntarily obey the Traffic Rules to save lives.” "To be a good Samaritan always helps the road side accident victims and never use a mobile phone while driving," said Shivali Kotwal, DySP Traffic City North Jammu. The activities include holding of Awareness camps for drivers of mini buses, cars and riders of two-wheelers at RS Pura, Satwari, Narwal, Gole Market, Bikram Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Jewel Chowk, Talab Tillo Chowk, Ambphalla, Janipur, Indira Chowk, Kachi Chawni, Parade, Nagrota, Domana etc. |
