SRINAGAR, July 7: A non-local labourer allegedly committed suicide by hanging self from a tree in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
Official sources on Wednesday said that panic gripped Beerwah area in Budgam when some locals saw body of a youth hanging from a tree near a brick kiln in the morning. ''The locals immediately informed the police,'' they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
They said the deceased was later identified as Akhilesh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. ''Initial investigation indicates that the youth committed suicide,'' they said.
''It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step,'' they said, adding police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident.
They said even though initial investigation indicates that it was a suicide, but all angles of this case will be investigated thoroughly. |
