Jammu, July 7: Former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was very particular to bring back Bollywood to Kashmir Valley, so he made every effort in this regard.
From day one after becoming Chief Minister of the PDP-BJP government on March 1, 2015, Mufti Sayeed made a sincere effort to revive the old glory of Kashmir.
On April 30, 2015, two months after becoming Chief Minister of J&K for the second time, Mufti Sayeed had visited the residence of Dilip Kumar, and invited the thespian to visit Kashmir Valley.
During his meeting, Sayeed had invited Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu to visit Kashmir Valley as state guests. Sayeed had described Dilip Kumar as one of the greatest actors of the Indian film industry and recalled some of his memorable works in a career spread over six decades.
It was part of Mufti Sayeed’s plan to bring Dilip Kumar in Kashmir Valley for some days to give a message to Bollywood.
Dilip Kumar was ready to spend some days in Valley during summers of 2015 but it was all due to health issues, the programme was cancelled.
Sayeed, who visited Mumbai to promote Kashmir as a shooting and film destination, met a number of actors to fulfill his desire.
The former Chief Minister took him down memory lane when the Indian film industry used to shoot their films in Kashmir. He was hopeful that the film fraternity in Mumbai would take the initiative and revive their lost bond with paradise on earth.
