Raman Suri urges LG to save academic year of 10th class students | "JKBOSE did injustice" | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: While expressing his grave concern over students of class 10th protesting on roads seeking their mass promotion, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and direct Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) authorities to listen to the grievances of children and do whatever best can be done for their future prospects. Raman Suri said that this is very unfortunate that JKBOSE authorities are not even lending their ear to the aggrieved students and are using police force to keep them at bay from their office or Chairman. This is not a healthy sign of good governance wherein children are being denied a hearing by the officials and are made to protest on roads in this scorching heat. Raman Suri said that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in one go, announced mass promotion of all class 12th CBSE students, then why was there a need of declaring results of class 10th students based on just two examinations. These little students could also be given mass promotion knowing that due to pandemic, frequent lockdowns and meagre resources, they too have suffered a lot and were unable to prepare for examinations as should have been in ideal conditions. Raman Suri said this this is grave injustice with class 10th students of JKBOSE and they must be given mass promotion as a onetime exception or a way out should be found to save their academic year. He said, many students, knowing that students across the country are getting mass promotions, also took admission in class 11th but knowing that they have been failed, they suffered a big shock. The BJP leader said that all class 12th students of CBSE have been promoted across India and several states too have taken such a decision to save lives and academic years of students but in J&K, by failing class 10th students, an injustice has been done with them. He urged Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter on sympathetic grounds and if possible, order mass promotion of all class 10th, 11th and 12th students who have failed to save their academic year. |
