MJR47 appeals to all parties to support issues of DPs of 1947

Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 7: During a meeting of MJR47 held today preview to the Delimitation Commission meeting being held at Jammu, it was informed that the MJR47 has been continuously demanding to defreezing at least 8-10 assembly seats out of 24 kept reserved for POJK area voters.
A presentation on the issue was made to the Delimitation Commission in Nov.2020 to which the Commission had replied that the request cannot be ceeded as it does not fall in it's purview. Today a news item in the press had referred to our communication with comments . We understand that the Commission was right to the fact that it has a limited brief.
This issue was discussed fully in the short meeting chaired by J.S. Sudan and attended by Suchwant Singh, OP Khajuria, K.L. Sudan, Vinod Sharma and others.
It was informed that after analysing the laws and rules MJR 47 had resubmitted the case to the Commission with a copy to the Home Ministry , the reply is still awaited.
We do hope that the matter is under consideration with the Commission and we will present our case again in the forthcoming meeting before the Commission to take it to a logical conclusion.
As far as the comments of the Cong party are concerned it reflects only frustration as they could not do anything on this issue while they were in power both in state and centre for pretty long time. It's only to take milage and criticize the ruling party whereas the facts on ground reflect quite contrary. Giving compensation of Rs5.5 lakhs /family , though is not as per the recommendations of the Parliamentary Standing Committee, but still good begining and acceptance of our long pending demands.
It's quite astonishing while parties avail all chance to criticize ruling party while paying no attention to what they do for this pathetic issue.
Our organisation as also all other DPs were shell shocked when none of the party leaders raised DPs' issue in all party meeting at Delhi on 24th June 2021. Some of them didn't want to miss a chance to raise issue of valley migrants. Does Kashmir issue starts with Valley migration in 1990 or with the Tribal raid of 1947 when thousands of innocent people were massacred in genocide and the DPs are still living in same refugee camps.
We expect and earnestly request all parties to support the case of DPs of 1947 especially on the issue of getting the political representation.
