Education Department hailed for fast redressal of grievances of teaching community 7/8/2021 12:15:32 AM Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: Jammu Kashmir Teachers/ Masters Association has hailed the work done by Principal Secretary School Education Department B.K Singh for speedy and fast redressal of grievances of teaching community particularly DPC of various cadres to fulfill the vacant posts of Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education officers and principals which was lying vacant for very long time and thus adversely affecting the smooth functioning of education department for the welfare of students. Rakesh Singh State president also urged for DPC of teachers and masters to fulfill the vacant posts of masters and lecturers particularly in far flung areas as deficiency of Lecturers in these schools is creating problem for rural school students to achieve education at their doorsteps. "Moreover DPC of teachers occurred on 2014 and there is a stagnation of cadre due to no DPC for 7 years due to this morale and enthusiasm of teaching community become low." While speaking on the occasion Singh said that there is a need to exempt such distance science degree holders from the seniority list of PG teachers who enrolled in distance education/study centres after December 2005 keeping in view Govt order no 252 which speaks that "No Science degree obtain through Distance education off-campus study centre is valid for Promotion except those who enrolled before December 2005 as one time exemption" so there is a need to update seniority list as per this order and upload on the website of Directorate of School Education Jammu for inviting objections if any before DPC Singh urged to Principal Secretary School Education. Citing importance of Subject Biotechnology there is a strong need to introduce Biotechnology in atleast 10 higher secondaries of every district keeping its future prospects in the interest of students.
