DDC Rajouri inspects progress of ongoing developmental projects in district
Asks to complete projects within set timelines

RAJOURI, July 7: The District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today conducted an extensive tour of the district and inspected the progress of ongoing developmental projects being executed by different executing agencies in the district.
The District Development Commissioner was accompanied by the SE PWD, Javaid Maqbool; SE Jal Shakti, JP Singh; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed besides the concerned officials of the PWD, Jal Shakti and PMGSY Department.
The projects inspected today include Old Bustand, Bella road, Tandwal to Sadyal bridge, Pathanmohra to Keri road and water supply schemes of the Jal Shakti Department.
At Old Bustand, the concerned officer from the PWD informed that the work on the wet mix macadminzation of the Bustand is complete and the blacktopping would start soon. The DDC asked the concerned officer to immediately start the work on the blacktopping of the Bustand and ensure that the work in double shifts to complete the project in set timlines.
Concerning the progress on Bella road, which connects Alternate Abdullah Bridge to Rajouri -Thanamandi road, by passing congested Gujjar Mandi Chowk, the DDC asked the concerned officer to work in double shifts and make sure that the work on the road is completed within the shortest possible time.
At Pathanmohra to Keri Manayala road, the concerned officer from PMSGY apprised that the project has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 18 crores and the total length of the road is 24 kms. It was further apprised that the work of blacktopping on the road is in progress and would be completed by the end of October this year.
While reviewing the progress on Tandwal to Sadyal bridge, it was informed that the estimated cost of the bridge is 3.9 crores and its spam is 50 meters. The DDC asked the concerned Executing Agency to work in day and night shifts to complete the work on the bridge at the earliest.
The District Development Commissioner also inspected the progress on two borewells of the Jal Shakti Department located at Gurdhan Pain and Tandwal. The concerned officer informed that the total capacity of each borewell is 10000 gallons and work on both the schemes would be completed in one month.
The District Development Commissioner directed the concerned officers to adhere to the timelines for completion and continuous monitoring for maintaining the quality of works to meet the developmental aspirations of the general public.
The District Development Commissioner also called for making coordinated efforts while executing developmental works to overcome any hindrance or bottlenecks so that the progress on the projects does not suffer and they are completed within the set deadlines.
