GCOE conducts online competition on 'International Yoga Day'

JAMMU, July 7: NSS unit of Govt. College of Education, (GCOE) Jammu under the patronage of the Cluster University of Jammu organized an online Intra-College Videography and Essay Writing Competition celebrating International Yoga Day to commemorate Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on 21st June, 2021.
When the whole world has been suffering from the pandemic, Yoga is giving rays of hope to stay relaxed and fit to the people. Keeping in mind the prevailing conditions, the Program was ably conducted by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Programme Officer along with NSS volunteers.
The theme for the said program was "Yoga for well-being" which focuses on the contribution of this physical activity for the holistic health of every individual.
Dr. Kulvinder Kour (Principal of GCOE), applauded the efforts of the NSS unit, and also stressed that physical fitness should always be a priority for all and yoga is the best way to keep oneself physically and psychologically strong especially in the present challenging situation.
Many students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated Yoga exercises (asanas) to improve physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
Dr. Sushma Bala, Prof. Shalini Rana, and Prof. Shapia Shameem were the judges of this event. Winners will be declared on the college website by 21st June.
Suvidha Sambyal, Diksha Devi, Priya Chivalry Singh,7 Sourav Sharma, Ambica, and Samreeti (NSS volunteers from GCOE) contributed to the successful organization of the event.
