| NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah hold awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
JINDRAH, July 7: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah conducted an awareness programme at village Pandiri, Panchayat Jindrah to make locals aware of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', a scheme of Govt. of India.
A door to door awareness campaign was run at village Pandiri, Panchayat Jindrah by NSS volunteers of GDC Jindrah. The volunteers visited the village personally under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS unit of GDC Jindrah.
The NSS volunteers made locals of the area aware about 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', a center sponsored schemes for the girl child only. The scheme aimed at prevention of gender biased sex selective elimination to ensure survival & protection of the girl child. The scheme further ensure education and participation of the girl child in the mainstream.
The efforts made by NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah were well appreciated by the Prof. Rajshree Dhar, the Principal of GDC Jindrah. The whole campaign was run under her guidance.
The campaign was compiled by Dr. Seema. The villagers very attentively listened to the volunteers and convinced to educate the girl child. The villagers also inquired about the various benefits associated with the scheme and cleared their doubts in this regard. |
