GDC Majalta Organises Webinar on "Say No To Drugs"

JAMMU, July 7: Psychological Counselling Cell in collaboration with Department of Urdu Government Degree College ,Majalta organized a Webinar on the topic "Say No to Drugs" under the aegis of Manodarpan initiative of Govt of India on the 7th July 2021.
The Resource Person was Dr. Neha Sharma working as Medical Officer in Health Department J&K .In the inaugural address,Prof (Dr.)B.B.Anand Principal of the College highlighted the importance of organizing such activities at various levels from time to time.
He also discussed that there are various misconceptions regarding drugs in the society and awareness is only the way to prevent the society from this menace .The welcome address was delivered by the convener of Psychological Counselling Cell Prof.Neelam Kumari, Department of Education.
The Resource person oriented the students about how a person becomes an addict and what are the possible ways to avoid becoming an addict .
She also stressed on the ill effects that Drug use have on our health and our behavior and said that the best return that can be given to society is to say no to drugs.
She also stressed on how the family environment is affected due to drug abuse and said that nobody should try to consume any kind of drug just for the sake of fun or for reducing stress. She also shared the data of drug addicts of different states of India.
A large number of staff members and students attended the webinar.The Programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Imran Hussain Shah,Assistant Professor from Department.
