DSEJ organises 15 day online workshop on creative writing for students, teachers

JAMMU, July 10: To provide them an opportunity to exhibit their creative writing skills and hone these further, second 'Fifteen day Online Literary Workshop' in four languages, Hindi, Dogri, Urdu and Gojri was inaugurated for the students and teachers by Director School Education, Jammu Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, here today. The inaugural event was attended by a large number of teachers and students.
A similar online literary workshop was organised by Directorate of School Education, Jammu last year providing many talented writers and poets among Govt teachers and students an opportunity to find their feet in the field.
Two of the teachers from last year's workshop, Ranjay Kumar (Lecturer) and Chaman Lal (Teacher), who have established themselves as creative writers, were among the resource persons in the ongoing workshop and shared their experiences from previous year's workshop.
In his inaugural speech, the Director stressed on the need of introducing different skill sets and training of Teachers and inculcating moral values among students and making them good human beings by developing good literary taste, besides routine studies.
He also spoke about the National Education Policy 2020, which has the provision of teaching students in their mother tongue so that they may not forget their rich cultural and linguistic heritage.
Focusing on exhibition of the creative writing and learning skills, the DSEJ said that there was a dire need of encouraging students towards exercising their creative minds and using their imagination powers.
The Welcome and keynote address was presented by Surjit Singh,I/C Cultural and Education Cell DSEJ.
Supriya Sharma, Team Member Cultural and Education Cell DSEJ, conducted the proceedings of the program.
Monika Khosla, Team Member Cultural and Education Cell,DSEJ presented the Vote of Thanks.
Technical support was provided by Ashutosh Sharma,Team member, Cultural and Education Cell DSEJ, alonh with Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Deepak Sharma.
The ongoing workshop has empanelled several resource persons including Keerti Thakur, Ajay Anant, Vipan Upadhyay, Kavita Dutt, Babu Bhatti, Romesh Banjalvi, Anwar Khan, Rinki Mahajan, Jan Mohammad Hakim, Dr. Kuldip Dogra, Bharat Bhushan, Anuradha Sharma, Ranjay Kumar,Dr. Jia Lal, Dr.Purushottam Jamwal.
