Justice Rabstan inaugurates National Lok adalat at HC, Jammu wing

JAMMU, July 10: Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and Chairman, J&K High Court Legal Services Committee, today inaugurated National Lok Adalat at High Court, Jammu Wing.
Pertinently, National Lok Adalat was organized across the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for speedy and amicable settlement of cases under the patronage of Justice Pankaj Mithal, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Patron-in-Chief, State Legal Services Authority of J&K and Ladakh and under the guidance of Justice Ali Mohd Magrey, Judge, High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority J&K and Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Judge, High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, Ladakh Legal Services Authority.
A series of Pre-Lok Adalat sittings was held from 5th July to 8th July 2021 at High Court Complex, Jammu wherein the matters at the stage of pre-litigation and those pending before the High Court of J&K, Jammu Wing, were taken up for amicable settlement between the parties.
Two benches were constituted to take up the claim cases arising out of Motor Accidents and Workmen Compensation Act of various Insurance Companies as well matrimonial disputes, criminal compoundable cases, civil disputes and cases of land acquisition.
The Advocates representing the Insurance Companies, private parties and the litigants participated in the Pre-Lok Adalat sessions and National Lok Adalat in which large number of cases were taken up for amicable settlement. Several claim cases were finally settled resulting in delivery of cheques of compensation on the spot to the claimants by Justice Tashi Rabstan.
