Early Times Report JAMMU, July 10: Continuing with its protest which is going on for the last over nine months, the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) held a sit-in near Lane No 7 of Jagti township. Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC-SKF said that the government should fulfill our demands as soon as possible. Pandita said government should resettle the exiled KPs in Kashmir valley which is their motherland. He also demanded increase in the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month and employment to the households where there are no government jobs in the families for which a package of 20,000 jobs should be announced. Out of 20,000 posts 5,000 Class 4th posts should be given to unemployed youth who have passed matriculation and then later they could not get ahead due to poverty, who do not appear in the merit lists. He also sought compensation for the losses of the properties belonging to KPs. Others who participated in the protest included Raj Kumar Tickoo, Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Rakesh Ambardar, Rakesh Tickoo, Shuban Ji Raina, Vinod Bhat, Kamal Ji Pandita, Vijay Bakshi, Ram Krishan, Ramesh Suri, Rakesh Koul, Charanjeet Singh and Gurmeet Singh. |
