| Mayor convenes meeting of engineers | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 10: In order to provide uninterrupted & reliable power supply to the citizens of Jammu during this hot & humid conditions, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Yash Pal Sharma Chairman of Swacch Bharat Committee, Kuldeep Singh Chib chairman of Social Justice Committee today convened a meeting of concerned Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers of JPDCL (Electrical Department) working within the jurisdiction of JMC at Town Hall Jammu.
Mayor directed them to take strict & innovative measures in order to meet the various challenges in the ongoing summer season in fulfilling the required supply of power to the people of Jammu City as well as genuine issues of frequent power cuts, continuous electricity fluctuation and low voltage in some parts of the city on routine basis.
He further asked them to maintain proper liaison with all the councilors of Jammu Municipal Corporation and attend their phone calls concerning issue of electricity and take concrete and necessary measures in organizing awareness camps in consultation with the Municipal councillors in all the wards of the city and make the locals well aware about the use of electricity in a proper manner, get their electrical connections legalized, revise their electrical load under rule with the objective to curb the pilferage of electricity.
Besides this, inspection teams under the supervision of senior officers should conduct surprise checking/inspection of consumers who have installed air Conditioners or any other electronic gadgets illegally and the violators should be dealt strictly and their service lines immediately be disconnected as due to this menace of illegal load, the transformers are frequently get damaged forcing the genuine & honest consumers to suffer in this hot & humid conditions and also appeal to the general public to cooperate with the field staff of JPDCL and identify the illegal connection holders in their locality so that the theft of Power by some unscrupulous & fraudulent elements in society be saved. |
