Implementation of District Environmental Plan reviewed in Doda | MCs asked to constitute Ward Sanitation Committees | | Early Times Report DODA, July 10: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. Ravi Kumar Bharti today reviewed the implementation of the District Environment Plan, here at a meeting of the District Environment Committee. Threadbare discussion was held regarding action taken on execution of DEP in the district by different departments, which include Solid Waste management, Plastic waste management, Bio-medical Waste Management, Domestic Sewage Management and Water Waste Management etc. The ADC directed the Municipal Bodies to constitute Ward sanitation committees in all wards of Municipal Council Doda and Municipal committees of Bhaderwah and Thathri. He also directed them to ensure door to door waste collection without any fail. While reviewing the bio medical waste management, the CMO informed the Committee that bio medical waste is being lifted on weekly basis according to the set norms and nothing is being kept in the premises of the Associated Hospital, in other hospitals of the district. Other than the Bio medical waste, different waste is being lifted by MC Doda from Associated Hospital on a daily basis as per the agreement. Regarding water conservation, the ADC directed all the stakeholders to ensure that the water bodies are not exposed to pollution in the District. The committee decided to hold a monthly review meeting on the 1st Wednesday of each month from August onwards. |
