Early Times Report REASI, July 12: Forty one villages having more than 50% tribal population are being developed as Adarsh Grams (Model Villages) in Reasi District under Special Central Assistance for Tribal Development. Each village will get Rs 22.62 lakh for "Gap filling" and improving socio-economic indicators under Integrated Village Development Plan. In this regard, District Development Commissioner, Charandeep Singh today chaired a meeting of the concerned Officers to discuss and finalise the strategy for the formulation of the Integrated Village Development Plan under special assistance for Tribal Development, based on gap analysis. The meeting was attended by CPO, Sunita Kanchan, ACD Anirudh Rai, DSWO Gulshan Kumar, PO ICDS, Renu Kumari, CEO, Mohd.Aziz, CMO Dr. Rajeev Sharma, BDO Gulabgarh, Siddharth Dubey, BDO Panthal, Peunika ,BDO Katra Ridhima Sharma, BDO Pauni, Sumit Suri, BDO Arnas, BDO Reasi and other concerned officers. The District Development Commissioner said the Integrated Village Development Scheme aims at socio-economic development of the tribal communities and to overcome the developmental deficit in the areas inhabited by the tribal populations. "The scheme is being implemented by the Tribal Affairs Department in coordination with the Rural Development Department and district administration", the District Development Commissioner added. Parameters including qualitative survey of the selected villages and others on which the plan formulation and procedure is to be adopted for village prioritisation were discussed in detail during the meeting. The meeting was informed that Plan formulation and village prioritization will be done on 55 different monitorable parameters in 14 different sectors. These include Health and Nutrition, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Education, Housing, Livelihood, Electric Supply, Road Connectivity, Mobile/Internet Connectivity, Farm and Non-Farm activities, Market Interventions, Skill and Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion, Social Security and Digitisation. The meeting was informed that 41 villages of the district have been selected under the integrated village development plan. The DC directed the concerned officers to make proper need assessment and gap analysis in the selected villages to meet developmental needs of the tribal population and submit the necessary data in this regard in a time bound manner. Further, the DC directed the concerned officers to organise special gram sabhas and ensure involvement of the PRIs and public in the plan formulation process.
