SRINAGAR, July 12: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.78 percent as 448 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 155 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 18,848.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 155 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 42 from Jammu division and 113 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 18,848.
Moreover, 448 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 228 from Jammu division and 220 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 98.12 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 18,848 positive cases, 2,709 are active positive, 3, 11,782 have recovered and 4,357 have died; 2,126 in Jammu division and 2,231 in Kashmir division.
Out of 1, 06, 73,690 test results available, 1, 03, 54,842 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 25, 70,745 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 8,989 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2,709 in isolation and 2, 75,937 in home surveillance. Besides, 22, 78,753 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,696 positive cases, 571 active positive, 69,293 recovered, 832 deaths; Baramulla has 23,407 positive cases, 148 active positive, 22,979 recovered, 280 deaths; Budgam has 22,744 positive cases, 132 active positive, 22,408 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,246 positive cases, 110 active positive, 15,931 recovered, 205 deaths; Pulwama has 15,040 positive cases, 88 active positive, 14,759 recovered, 193 deaths.
“Kupwara has 13,959 positive cases, 114 active positive, 13,680 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,189 positive cases, 88 active positive, 10,984 recovered, 117 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,753 positive cases, 142 active positive, 9,534 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 9,395 positive cases, 80 active positive, 9,215 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,571 positive cases, 10 active positive, 5,503 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,567 positive cases, 333 active positive, 51,096 recovered, 1,138 deaths; Udhampur has 11,235 positive cases, 51 active positive, 11,052 recovered, 132 deaths; Rajouri has 10,802 positive cases, 81 active positive, 10,499 recovered, 222 deaths; Kathua has 9,244 positive cases, 26 active positive, 9,069 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,099 positive cases, 35 active positive, 6,945 recovered, 119 deaths.
“Doda has 7,075 positive cases, 212 active positive, 6,742 recovered, 121 deaths; Poonch has 6,185 positive cases, 98 active positive, 5,993 recovered, 94 deaths; Reasi has 6,171 positive cases, 249 active positive, 5,879 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,910 positive cases, 74 active positive, 5,771 recovered, 65 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,560 positive cases, 67 active positive, 4,450 recovered, 43 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 18,848 positive cases in J&K, 22,705 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
