DDC member slams BJP for apathetic attitude towards problems
7/13/2021 12:13:31 AM
Early Times Report

RS PURA, July 12: District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony on Monday vowed to address the long pending demand of villagers in Shatraiyan Village to shift 11KV line as the same was posing risk to the villagers.
Tony visited Shatraiyan in Suchetgarh to take stock of people’s problems in the area. During the interaction, villagers apprised the DDC Member about the High Tension Line of 11,000 Volts passing over the village posing risk to people. They said that for the last 15 years they had taken up this matter with successive governments but nothing substantial came to fore.
Upon this, Tony took a jibe at BJP and said that it is surprising that the party which never gets tired of claiming to be the champion of resolving people’s issues failed to address this small issue in the last over 12 years of its so-called good governance. He said that it is strange that people could not get relief from their well-wisher party.
Tony said that looking into the perils involved with the passing of this HT line over dense population it is advisable to shift this immediately as its present location is an open invitation to death and destruction.
Tony promised to address the same in one month and assured shifting of this line from this village so that danger from this HT line is eliminated fully. He also promised to replace all the dilapidated power cables in the vicinity to ensure uninterrupted supply and minimize accidents. He also vowed to take up other works which are pending since long in a phased manner.
Sukhdev singh Manhas, Sudesh Singh Chib, Swarn Singh, Narinder Singh, Anurodh Singh, Ramesh Singh, Anita Devi, Ex Sarpanch Raghunath Singh, Shamsher Singh, youth leader Kasturi Singh Chib and Surjit Singh also accompanied Tony during the visit to Shatraiyan.
