Deputy Mayor takes stock of damages due to overflowed nallah | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 15: Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) inspected Ajeet Nagar area in ward 73 and took stock of the damage caused due to the overflowed nallah of the area. During the inspection, it was noted that the reason for the nallah to get overflowed was the garbage which was thrown in the nallah by the locals or passerby citizens. Due to this garbage, the nallah at the bridge got choked by the garbage as a result there was no where for the water to flow, so it overflowed. After the inspection, Adv. Purnima Sharma said that the recent incident of heavy rainfall that caused havoc all over Jammu and due to which many nallahs and drains were overflowed. So in order to avoid this in the upcoming future, she is inspecting every nallah so as to find the reason due to which they got overflowed and also to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Pitambar Sharma, Askoh Khajuria, Vikas Sharma, Sanket Sharma, Ashok Ranyal, Bharat Sharma, Mandeep Choudhary and other prominent residents of the area were also present during the inspection. Further, Deputy Mayor JMC held a press conference briefing the media regarding the recent E-inauguration of CLC Jammu by Lieutenant Governor J&K and other foundations/academy offering skill development courses with placements. Meanwhile, briefing the media, Deputy Mayor said that a great effort by the DAY-NULM Jammu Housing & Urban Development Department which was E-inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor of JK (UT), Manoj Sinha on 9th July, 2021in which the City Livelihood Centre Jammu was inaugurated in which the youth of Jammu can register themselves and provide their skills and services. She further said that CLC will act as an interface between the service providers and service seekers and help them in finding viable markets for good producted by the self help groups & Entrepreneurs. Adv. Purnima Sharma further added that there are many foundation/ academies likes the ICICI Foundation which offer skill development courses for the age group 18-30 with 85-90% placement. |
