DLSA Reasi hosts On-line awareness for Panel Lawyers, PLVs

REASI, July 15: District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, under the able guidance and supervision of its chairman R.N. Watal, today organized an On-line program on the topic "Lok Adalats: An Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism with special emphasis on the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987" for the Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and Village Level Workers (VLWs), Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRSs) and Multipurpose Workers (MPWs) of District Reasi. Panel Lawyer, M.S. Mir acted as a Resource Person and Advocate Ajay Salalia was the moderator in the said program. The Resource Person discussed in detail about the evolution of the concept of Lok Adalats, their purpose and significance and also the role of Lok Adalats in providing access to justice. Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Reasi presented the Vote of Thanks to the participants at the end of the program. The online program was organized as per the Mandate of the Calendar of the programs of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority for the month of July under the project "Access to Justice for J&K" (Phase-II).
