Public Grievances Redress Camp held at Macchedi

KATHUA, July 15: To take first hand appraisal of public issues and grievances, District administration Kathua today hosted a Public Grievances Redress camp here at Tehsil Office Machhedi.
DDC Chairperson, Mahan Singh; Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, DDC Member, Nagrota Gujjroo, Narayan Tripathi; DDC Member Lohai Malhar, DDC Member Duggain; BDC Chairperson Duggain; Sarpanches, Panches and a large number of people were present at the camp.
Scores of individuals and deputations led by elected PRIs put forth their grievances, besides highlighted development needs of their respective areas.
The issues mainly highlighted during the camp included early restoration of local PMGSY road, timely completion of RDD works, taking up of Horticulture schemes suitable to local climate and tapping of Tourism potential of the area.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the people that their genuine issues will be taken up on priority. He directed concerned officers of PMGSY to depute adequate men and machinery for early restoration of the PMGSY road link.
Regarding the damages caused by recent incessant rains and flash floods, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned Tehsildars to submit a detailed report so that relief/ compensation shall be given to the affected families.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged people to take vaccination at the earliest as the area of Machhedi and Lohai Malhar are among the low performing areas in the district. He sought the help of PRIs for mobilising and motivating people for vaccination and to extend co-operation to the visiting teams deployed for door to door vaccination.
Meanwhile, DC, Rahul Yadav informed about teams of Health Department holding village wise camps to register people for Ayushman Bharat and PM-JAY Sehat cards. He appealed to people to register themselves for Health cards and avail maximum benefits of the health insurance schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairperson, Mahan Singh appealed to the elected PRIs to work in tandem with government functionaries of different departments in order to fulfill the development aspirations of the people. He also encouraged people to take Covid Vaccination to stay safe.
