7/15/2021 11:08:34 PM

Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, July 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated 'Horticulture Week' (14th to 20th July 2021) at 'Horticulture Hub Daskal' near Akhnoor with the theme of doubling farmers income, on 14th July 2021.
During the function the LG took note of restiveness of public during the function. When Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Naveen Chaudhary, IAS was explaining varieties, growth, demand, quality and export of Kashmir Apple, he made no mention of Jammu Mango. Wanting to put across to his notice about fruits of Jammu Region, particularly the famous Jammu Mango, (like R S Pura Basmati Rice),
Th. K P Singh, a social activist otherwise, got up from the audience but was shouted down without being heard. LG sensed public getting restless for not being heard pertaining to public issues; during his address, recollected this incident. Before ending his speech, he said that someone from the audience wanted to put across some point which must be of an important public concern but could not do so. "I will meet him after the function is over to know the problem", he stated.
