Vijay Verma produces longest Dogri Gazal of 721 couplets

JAMMU, July 15: A prominent Dogri poet Vijay Verma has produced a Dogri Ghazal book "Daun Sadiyan Ik Seer" with a longest Dogri Ghazal Book in Dogri".
The book was released by the eminent literary stalwart Mohan Singh- President Duggar Munch, Jammu at Headquarters- Gurha Slathia, birthplace of legendary Dogri poet Sh K.S. Madhukar, Guru of Sh. Vijay Verma's Guruji Prof. Kuldeep Singh Jindrahiya.
The landmark book by Vijay Verma, senior-most news reader and translator- Dogri (ALL INDIA RADIO DDG level), has been released offline after getting launched online earlier last week of June by the publisher strictly observing Covid-19 Protocols.
Releasing the book offline along with other eminent writers, President of Duggar Munch, Sahitya Akedemi awardee Mohan Singh welcomed the book, extended greetings to the poet and congratulated all writers and lovers of Dogri language. He said "This is a historic day for Dogri as well as all Indian languages that such a work has been launched offline in Indian literature."
He wished the poet to come out with more books of different mark with his rich language and new literary pursuits. Sh. Mohan Singh appreciated the poet for keeping the great traditions with modern- touch to bring the best in Dogri Poetry. He appreciated the work and quality of publication of the book and said- "It is a matter of pride for Duggar Munch, art, literary and cultural fraternity because this is a marvellous treatment given to folk and modern pursuits.
Darshan Darshi, prominent poet, author and novelist in multi-lingual formats and convener Dogri Advisory Board- Sahitya Akedemi, Delhi, on a phone call from Canada wished and congratulated Vijay Verma on this historic and auspicious occasion of this landmark- book release. The great scholar, poet, author and ex- additional Secretary of J&K Academy of Art and Cultural Languages- Dr. Om Goswami blessed and wished Vijay Verma over the phone on this auspicious day of launch of landmark book.
To grace the occasion, various other prominent personalities include renowned poet, author Sahitya Akedemi awardee Shivdev Singh Susheel and eminent scholar, writer, ex-additional Secretary Dr. Gian Singh, alongside with prominent scholar, linguistic expert, author, translator and broadcaster Dr. Jatinder Singh, banker and ex- senior Manager of J&K Bank- Sukhdev Gautam, translator, broadcaster and State Information Official- Natya Pal Singh.
Explaining the journey of this book Sh. Vijay Verma noted some remarkable experiences and enriching linguistic pursuits in Dogri. He expressed satisfaction on presenting a good book in his mother-language Dogri with promise to come out with more in service of Dogri poetry and literature as a whole.
