BSNL in deteriorating condition, Industry suffers: BSSIA
7/20/2021 11:10:32 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 20: An emergency meeting of office bearers of Birpur Small Scale Industries Association (BSSIA) was held today at BSSIA office at Birpur Complex under the chairmanship of President Deepak Dhawan. The main issue under discussion was the problems being raised by their members concerning the services being provided by the BSNL department in Birpur complex.
Nowadays everyone is mostly dependant on telecom and internet for the day to day working, and same applies in case of industries also. Every industrialist needs to have proper access to telecom (both landline and mobile) and internet services. Members of our association are facing serious problems/issues with the deteriorating services of the department. The landline services are in a very poor condition as there is nobody in the department to act upon. The manual complaint numbers are not being picked by the exchange officials and as far as online complaints are concerned the complaint is booked on one day and the other day we receive the SMS that the complaint has been resolved with actually not resolving the complaint. This further affects the broadband facilities which are directly linked with landline working. In such a situation, it has been very difficult for the industries to comply with different Government compliances like GST, e-invoicing, e-way bills, online banking, e-tendering etc. Even the mobile services are in a very erratic condition as many a time in a day the network disappears for long intervals. More than 90% of our member industries depend upon the BSNL services as they all have the landline, broadband and mobile connections.
On behalf of our members of our association, we appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that as the department is a govt enterprise, direct the concerned officials that either they should resolve the problems of the subscribers.
Others present were Ankur Jain (Sr. Vice President), Jatin Sachdeva (Vice President), Gagan Jain (Gen. Secy), and Sharad Malhotra (Secy cum Treasurer).
