GZSMECT demands proper maintenance of heritage sites | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 20: General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust (GZSMECT) approached DC Reasi and raised the matter of the poor condition of heritage sites of District Reasi like the Bhimgarh Fort and the Zorawar Palace. These historic sites which are connected to the Dogra History require urgent maintenance at all costs, the Trust said and added due to the negligence of the Archaeological Department and the govt their condition has turned from bad to worse. These sites can turn out to be as a major landmark from the tourism perspective because of their historical importance. We have been running from pillar to post raising this issue and approached the authorities several times but to no avail. General Zorawar Singh Trust also discussed celebrating Mera Bharat Mahotsav as this trust is one of the 74 NGOs of the nation assigned for it. On this occasion Chairman Devinder Singh Kalhuria, Trustee Diksha and Riya Kalhuria were present. |
