Mayor JMC kick starts developmental works

Jammu, Aug 17: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu today along with Satpal Karlupia Councillor of ward no. 32 kick started the development work of traditional water body (Pond) situated at Trilokpur of ward no. 32.
Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer, B.K. Raina Junior Engineer & other supervisory staff of Division-II as well as Keshav Chopra Mandal President, Lokesh Gondhi, Subash arma, Raj Kumar arma (Ex. Sarpanch) Sumit Kumar, Sony Sandesh and other prominent inhabitants of the ward were also accompanied by the Mayor during the tour.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that JMC with the active support of all the Councillors have already taken up the job for restoration of Water Bodies & their further development in various wards of the city as these water bodies maintain the balance of decreasing water level, removes water shortage and provide smooth/ fresh atmosphere in the whole locality.
Mayor was apprised by the concerned Engineering wing that with the sincere efforts of the Councillor of this ward, this much needed development work has been started today with an allotted amount of Rs 45 lacs only by way of construction of beautiful pathway for walking purpose, commissioning of benches for sitting purpose, construction of inlet & outlet channels for change of water, covering of pond from all over the side with iron grills for its proper protection and other allied works as well as planting of seasonal saplings in and around the available vacant space of complex for providing greenery & eco friendly atmosphere.
Mayor also conducted tour of various localities of ward no. 33 & kick started the work of laying of tiles as well as fixing of iron gratings over the drains with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.74 lacs only in lane no. 3-E iv Nagar Jammu. He said that it was the long pending demands of the locals who were facing great hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the lane.
He directed the concerned engineers accompanied with him to complete the work within stipulated time period by applying best quality construction material for long durability of the lane and appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied department in all the development activities being undertaken in various parts of the city, do not encroach public drains/ nallahas, adopt the habit of segregation of dry/wet waste at their own level, plant more & more saplings in & around their surroundings where sufficient space is available to make Jammu neat, clean & green city.
