COVID containment: Kishtwar admin intensifies IEC activities to encourage people for vaccination, follow CAB | Weekly positive rate declines to 0.3 percent: DC | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Aug 17: District Administration Kishtwar has intensified Information Education Communication (IEC) activities to encourage masses for vaccination and following Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), said Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma today while briefing the media persons here about the current COVID care scenario in the district. He informed that the field functionaries of various departments are roping in PRIs, social and religious leaders to educate the masses on the ground level. While giving details, he informed that during the second surge of COVID 19 a total of 1962 COVID positive cases were reported in the district, out of which 1897 have recovered so far. He mentioned that at present the district has 49 active COVID positive patients, of which 2 patients are admitted in district hospital Kishtwar and rest are in home quarantine under govt aided medical treatment. While revealing the weekly report, he briefed that during this week the positive rate percentage was recorded at 0.3% with 24 cases, which is relatively on the lower side as compared to previous week. Terming vaccination as the only effective tool to safeguard the public against the virus, he informed that the district has achieved 100 percent vaccination of 45 year and above age group, while 45 percent persons in 18-44 age group have been given the first dose. |
