Jammu, Aug 17: GGM Science College organized a plantation drive in the backdrop of celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo.
The plantation drive was held in the college campus with active support of District Forest Office Jammu Sunil Singh.
The beautification committee and Botany Department, NSS organized the plantation drive. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Bimla Devi HOD Botany, Convenor Beautification committee. Dr. Deepali Mahajan NSS PO, Dr. R.K Bhat, Prof. Anita, Prof. Neena, Prof. Neeti, Prof. Smeeksha, Prof. Lakhwinder, Prof. Mehnaz participated in the plantation drive.
The plantation drive was carried out in college campus. Forest department volunteers, college daily wagers cleaned the area and made pits for planting 100 saplings.
The plants gulmohar, sukhchain, neem, arjuna, amla, panchtara, lagerstromia, arecha palm, jamun, chinar, etc. were planted.
The NSS volunteers Anchal, Tanisha, Mitali, Muskan, Karnveer participated enthusiastically. |
