Protesting villagers block NH for an hour | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Aug 20: Irked over the dilly-delaying attitude attained by GMC Kathua and Police administration, in handing over the dead bodies of the youths who died in an accident during the late hours of Thursday night, the villagers of Muthi Jagir staged protest demonstration, on Friday. The dozens of villagers blocking Jammu Pathankot National Highway near GMC Kathua for an hour raising slogans against Hospital as well Police administration. The villagers alleged that yesterday night a Scorpio vehicle run over three youths of their village, which were on a walk. It is sad to say despite knowing the registration number of the vehicle police still had neither traced the vehicle nor the driver. The villagers also alleged GMC administration of harassing the parents, who had lost their young children in the accident. They said that hours had passed but the hospital administration is not worried about the postmortem and handing over dead body of the deceased. Following the information, senior officials from Police department reached the spot and assured the villagers of taking stern action in the matter. On assurance the villagers concluded their protest after an hour. It is pertinent to mention here that in late hours of Thursday night a Scorpio car bearing registration number HP 13-2488, ran over three young boys who were walking road side near village Muthi Jagir. Later, the injured were rushed to GMC, where the doctors declared them as dead. The deceased has been identified as Aniket (18 years), Chandan (19 years), and Sunil (22 years) all r/o of village Muthi Jagir. |
