Early Times Report
Poonch, Aug 20: Nearly 150 students are studying in a dilapidated building comprising of a single room having no roof, walls, window and a door at Middle school at Dana, Loran in Poonch district. Due to space being insufficient students are forced to undertake classes under an open sky. Many people said that even though they have approached the concerned authorities on many occasions but their pleas have fallen flat on deaf ears. The said school is situated in the native of a local leader, who has been a former PDP MLA and a vice-chairman of a corporation. The school is very close to the house of member of District Development Council Poonch and is a native village of former PDP MLA who recently joined Apni Party. It’s strange that a former MLA and DDC a sitting DDC member cannot get a school shifted in a proper building. “One can imagine the condition of the school buildings in other areas, which don’t have former MLAs and sitting DDC members,” said a resident. “Children of politicians don’t study in such schools that’s why they can’t understand our pain”. They appealed to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to direct Education Department to sanction a building for the said school at earliest. |
